The Marine Corps expects its candidates to meet the highest standards of physical fitness, mental toughness, and resilience. Mighty Oak Athletic’s Marine Candidate Preparation Program is designed for students preparing to enlist — or those already enlisted — who want to enter boot camp ready to perform and lead.
Candidates will build the strength, endurance, and confidence needed to meet and exceed Marine Corps requirements, including the Initial Strength Test (IST), Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Combat Fitness Test (CFT).
Program Overview
The Marine Candidate Preparation Program follows a structured 6-week training cycle, designed to progressively improve the exact areas critical for Marine success:
Upper body strength for pull-ups, push-ups, and ammo can lifts
Core endurance for long-duration planks, combat crawls, and injury prevention
Grip, shoulder, and total-body strength to thrive in obstacle course and carry drills
Training is based on foundational barbell lifts, functional bodyweight exercises, and combat conditioning drills — carefully organized to prepare candidates for the physical and mental demands of Marine Corps training.
Flexible Training Structure
Mighty Oak Athletic’s open and unlimited membership allows candidates to train anytime during scheduled training windows, providing flexibility around busy school, work, and family commitments.
New candidates can start at any time and join the current 6-week training cycle, ensuring no delay in preparation.
