Mighty Oak Athletic offers a structured homeschool fitness class at our strength and conditioning facility in Westmont, Illinois — minutes from Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Darien, and Willowbrook.
Since 2013, we've trained students ages 6 & up with barbells, kettlebells, and bodyweight movement under the guidance of a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
We believe in training, not just working out. Every session follows a calculated, progressive path toward real gains in strength, endurance, and athleticism — and it counts as physical education in your homeschool curriculum.
A free training journal & course books are available.
Homeschool families travel to Mighty Oak Athletic from across DuPage County and Chicago's western suburbs because there is no comparable strength-based PE program nearby.
Your first session is free — come see the facility at 6424 S. Cass Ave. in Westmont.
Structured Progression:
Students advance through nine six-week training blocks built around the four foundational movements: press, pull, squat, and hinge. Progress is visible — our nine-level color shirt system marks each milestone, so students always know where they stand and what they're working toward. The result: measurable gains in strength, muscle, and cardiovascular endurance.
Personalized Coaching:
We don't just instruct; we coach. Every session is led under CSCS-certified supervision, teaching proper technique for basic body movements and barbell lifts. Students build safe training habits that last a lifetime — reducing injury risk on the field, on the court, and in daily life.
Holistic Development:
This is more than PE. Homeschool students in DuPage County often miss the built-in team environment of school sports — our class fills that gap. Students train side by side, encourage each other through hard sets, and build the kind of camaraderie that only comes from shared effort.
Benefits for Homeschool Programs:
Curriculum Supplement: A complete physical education and health credit for any homeschool curriculum. Free training journal & course books available!
Social Interaction: A consistent peer group for teamwork and friendship in a group setting.
Comprehensive Fitness: Strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination — all in one weekly structure.
Life Skills: Discipline, goal-setting, and the value of consistent effort.
